Training of Community Volunteers and TBAs
A. Training of PLHIV CVs
The 5-day training of Community Volunteers started on 26th May and ended on 30th May, 2015 with CVs from Udi, Ezeagu and Enugu-East LGAs. The training took place at State Health Board, GRA, Enugu. The goal and purpose of the training was to build the capacity of the Community Volunteers (CVs) on quality of Home Based Care (HBC), good counseling and adherence services in the implementation of HIV/AIDS project development programme (HPDP-2) in Enugu State.Attendance (Male/1, Females/11).
B. Training of CVs on PMTCT
The training started on 2/6/2015 and ended on 19/6/2015 in Oji-River and Enugu-East LGAs.
The objectives of the training were to:
- Provide community volunteers with adequate and right information on HIV/AIDs
- To build the capacity of community volunteers on PMTCT services in the implementation of HPDP-2 in Enugu State.
A 5-day intensive training were conducted in each LGA. A total of 60 persons were trained to carry out information on HIV/AIDs as it concerns PMTCT.
C. Training of TBAs
Training of TBAs started and on 2/6/2015 and ended on 20/6/2015 in Oji-River and Enugu-East LGAs.
The Objective of the training includes:
- Reduce new HIV/AIDs infection among child bearing mothers.
-Build the capacity of TABs on PMTCT services in the implementation of HIV/AIDS Project Development Programme (HPDP-2) in Enugu State.
A total of 40 TBAs were trained on PMTCT and SOP in the 5-day training organized in each LGA.
