Quarterly review meeting with PLHIV CVs & Mentors

The review meeting was held on June 30, 2016, at Emeyal-I Town Hall, bringing together key stakeholders, community volunteers, and members of the RHF project team. The purpose of the meeting was to appraise the activities carried out so far, share experiences from the field, and identify the challenges encountered during the short period of programme implementation.

Participants openly discussed their work, highlighting the progress made in community sensitization, service delivery, and support for People Living with HIV (PLHIV). They also reflected on the strategies that had been effective in reaching vulnerable populations and the areas where improvements were needed. The meeting provided a platform for exchanging practical ideas and learning from one another’s experiences, thereby strengthening collective efforts for the success of the programme.

One of the most significant issues raised during the meeting was the persistent problem of stigmatization against PLHIV within the communities. It was observed that stigma and discrimination continued to discourage many PLHIV from coming forward to register or participate openly in the programme. This reluctance has hindered the full realization of project goals, as some individuals in need of support remain hidden and isolated.

Participants agreed that addressing stigma must remain a top priority, with increased community awareness campaigns, confidentiality assurances, and engagement with influential community leaders to foster acceptance and support for PLHIV. The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from all present to tackle stigmatization head-on while continuing to deliver quality services to those in need.
