The meeting with Community Volunteers (CVs) for Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) was held on June 27, 2016, with all 10 CVs in attendance. Concurrently, the Home-Based Care (HBC) Role Models and CVs held their own meetings at separate venues.
During the OVC CVs’ session, important data was collected on the children they support. This included taking uniform measurements, recording the number of children attending the same school, and assessing how the OVCs were faring during volunteer visitations. CVs also provided details on the number of visits made to each child over the quarter, highlighting the level of engagement and follow-up care.
The meeting also served as a platform to discuss challenges encountered within the reporting period. These ranged from logistical constraints to difficulties in addressing certain needs of the children. The CVs shared practical suggestions and discussed what could be done differently to improve the quality of services provided to the OVCs going forward.
The session reinforced the importance of consistent monitoring, open communication, and collaborative problem-solving in ensuring that vulnerable children continue to receive adequate support for their well-being and education.
