The meeting held on December 19, 2016, at the Ogbia LGA Council gathered 10 OVC Community Volunteers (CVs), consisting of 2 males and 8 females, representing the seven project-targeted communities in Ogbia LGA. The primary focus of the meeting was to review the reports from the previous months, assess the performance of the CVs, and address any challenges faced during the project.
The team thoroughly examined the monthly reports submitted by the CVs, measuring the outcomes of their work, and discussed the successes and areas where improvements were needed. The challenges faced by the volunteers in their ongoing support for vulnerable children were also identified, and practical solutions were discussed to overcome these hurdles.
The CVs were strongly encouraged to continue providing psychosocial support to the vulnerable children in their communities even after the project’s completion. They were reminded of the importance of maintaining consistent home visits and ensuring that any issues concerning the well-being of the vulnerable children were promptly reported. The OVC CVs were also reminded that they could reach out to the State Ministry of Women Affairs through the OVC Desk Officer, Mr. Ballantine, for further assistance in addressing any challenges related to the children’s welfare.
The meeting concluded with the distribution of refreshments and the payment of transportation allowances to all participants, ensuring that they were supported for their time and effort in attending the session.
