An interactive project review and capacity-building meeting was held on May 2, 2016, at the Royal Health Foundation (RHF) office in Otio-Otio. The session was presided over by the Project Director and attended by a total of eight staff members from various units of the organisation.
The primary objective of the meeting was to track the progress of ongoing activities, provide feedback, and offer guidance where necessary. Staff members gave updates on their respective areas of responsibility, presenting achievements to date, highlighting any deviations from planned timelines, and discussing challenges encountered. This allowed the team to collectively appraise the work done so far and ensure that project implementation was aligned with set targets, donor requirements, and the overall goal of achieving effective programme results.
In addition to reviewing performance, the meeting created an opportunity to address operational issues and make adjustments to strategies for improved efficiency. The Project Director emphasised the importance of accountability, timely reporting, and maintaining quality standards across all activities. The discussions also focused on improving coordination between departments to strengthen the delivery of project outcomes.
A key component of the meeting was a capacity-building segment aimed at closing identified technical gaps among staff. Training inputs and practical guidance were provided in areas such as data collection and reporting, community engagement techniques, and compliance with organisational and donor policies. Staff were encouraged to ask questions, share experiences, and propose solutions to common challenges in the field.
By the end of the session, participants left with a clearer understanding of expectations, refined work plans, and strengthened technical skills, ensuring they were better equipped to contribute to the success of RHF’s ongoing projects.
