The RHF project team successfully conducted a two-day distribution of educational materials to Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) across the seven targeted communities in Ogbia LGA. This initiative was part of the ongoing support provided to the beneficiaries of the project, ensuring that OVCs have the necessary resources to pursue their education despite their challenging circumstances.
The educational materials distributed included four exercise books, a mathematical set containing essential stationery items such as pencils, biros, erasers, and sharpeners. These items were carefully selected to support the children’s academic activities, helping them keep up with their schoolwork and enhance their learning experience.
These materials are part of a broader educational support package aimed at promoting the academic success of OVCs within the project. In addition to the materials distributed during this phase, the RHF project will also provide school bags, uniforms, school sandals, and textbooks in the next quarter. This holistic approach ensures that the OVCs are well-equipped to attend school with dignity and the necessary tools to succeed.
The distribution process was designed to ensure that each child received the materials they needed to continue their education, and it was carried out with the active participation of community volunteers who helped in mobilizing the children and ensuring that the process ran smoothly. The RHF team expressed their commitment to supporting the OVCs throughout their educational journey, contributing to their future prospects, and empowering them to overcome the challenges they face.
