The programme was conducted in two LGAs in Enugu State, namely, Nkanu-East and Nsukka LGAs. In Nkanu-East, the distribution was carried out in Igwe’s Palace, Akpawfu, and Amauzam Ugbawka Community Primary School on 18th May, 2015. While in Nsukka, it was conducted in their respective community primary schools, Ihe-Owerre and Owerre-Obukpa, on 19th May, 2015.
Vulnerable Children in all the communities visited received the educational materials with excitement, which made some of the non-beneficiaries burst into tears when they saw their colleagues in a colorful mood. Some teachers who initially viewed our team as spies, along with some parents and guardians who were initially hesitant to bring their children to the enrolment, now brought them themselves after seeing the items provided to other children.
The event attracted many dignitaries, including 2 Traditional Rulers, Igwe Ihe-Owerre and HRH Igwe George F.O. Asadu, his Onowu, Felix E. Ugwu, Palace Secretary, Chief Loveday A.C. Ezeh, and Igwe Owerre-Obukpa. Also in attendance were Principals, Head Teachers, teachers, parents, and guardians.
