Training for OVC Community Volunteers on child registration & photo data capture

A total of 12 persons comprising of 10 OVC volunteers and 2 members of God's Deliverance Support Group, Ogbia were trained on OVC programming.

The objectives of the training included the following:

• To equip participants with knowledge and strategies for effective OVC programming
• Develop an action plan/schedule for OVC enrolment and monitoring

The training was held on May 16 - 20, 2016, and was attended by stakeholders from Bayelsa State for the Control of AIDS, State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Youth Leaders from Ogbia LGA and representatives from God's Deliverance Support Group.

The training was coordinated by Royal Healthcare Foundation and facilitated by skilled resource persons from Association of Orphans and Vulnerable Children in Nigeria (AONN). A total of 12 persons were trained as Community Volunteers.

It was a 5-day training that also included sessions on how to use the OVC tools and camera for registration and to capture a child's picture respectively during enrolment exercise.
